Diaz vs Edwards Postponed to June 12th

The Pay-Per-View offering for the month of April takes place next weekend in Houston, Texas. UFC 262 is stacked from top to bottom with pivotal top-ranked clashes and the vacant Lightweight title on the line in the main event.

The scheduled co-main was meant to be Nate Diaz’s first appearance in over a year and a half, as he was slated to return opposite Leon Edwards in what would have been the first five-round non-title co-main event in UFC history (that’s a mouthful). Edwards made his long-awaited return in an unfortunate affair, dealing out an eye poke to Belal Muhammad that saw their fight prematurely stopped and overturned to a no contest.

Unfortunately, Nate Diaz has been forced to withdraw from their scheduled meeting due to a currently undisclosed injury, according to Kevin Iole.

The bout has been rebooked for June 12th at UFC 263. The card is already stacked two title fights on the line as Israel Adesanya returns to Middleweight to fight Marvin Vettori with Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno going at it in their rematch for 125 pound gold.

It is currently unconfirmed whether they will keep their five-round status, but if they do, it would be a huge milestone as the first five-round undercard bout.

Hopefully they can get to that fight date with no further interruptions.
