A ranked Strawweight contest has just been added to the UFC 267 card, as Amanda Ribas will take on Virna Jandiroba. News of this bout was broken by Combat (@canalCombate on Twitter).
Amanda Ribas (10-2) was on the fast track to stardom with four straight wins, including victories over Paige VanZant and jiu-jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern. However, she was knocked out by Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257, putting a halt to her hype and five-fight win streak. She was slated to fight Angela Hill, but the bout fell out.
The Invicta Strawweight title led to the UFC debut of Virna Jandiroba (17-2), though she was beaten by Carla Esparza in a decision. Two submission wins led to a clash with the hyped Mackenzie Dern, who won a close decision. Jandiroba rebounded with a doctor stoppage over Kanako Murata, her first career win by knockout.
The pair is slated to meet on the UFC 267 card, likely on the main card. The event is currently set to be headlined boy the Light Heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.
