Blachowicz vs. Teixeira Shifted to UFC 267

The scheduled Light Heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira has been moved back to UFC 267, set to take place on October 30th, likely in Abu Dhabi, per Ag. Fight.

The match was previously set to take place at UFC 266, with that date eventually being postponed.

Jan Blachowicz (28-8) will be making his second defense of the Light Heavyweight crown, last seen defeating Israel Adesanya in a decision. Previous to that, he claimed the vacant belt with a second round KO of Dominick Reyes as a hefty underdog.

Ageless wonder Glover Teixeira (32-7) earned his crack at the crown with stoppage victories in 2020 over former title challengers Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos. He has been at the top echelon of the division since 2012, and is now riding a five-fight win streak, with all but one win coming by stoppage.

This postponement may keep certain challengers up in the air, but this is still a solid strength of schedule for Blachowicz, who will be making his second appearance within the calendar year.
