The UFC let out some of its heavily inflated roster today, unloading seven fighters from the promotion.

The fighters released are as follows:

• Emil Meek (9-5)
• Roque Martinez (15-8-2)
• Alexander Yakovlev (25-11-1)
• Lara Procopio (7-2)
• Christian Aguilera (14-8)
• Stefan Sekulic (12-4)
• Joe Ellenberger (10-2)

One name that surprised me in this list was Procopio, who has gone 1-2 in the promotion. However, her debut against Karol Rosa earned Fight of the Night while her most recent bout saw a loss at the hands of the Uber-talented Casey O’Neill.

Another name that may surprise fans will be Joe Ellenberger. Though he has not competed in ten years, he has remained on the UFC roster until now.
