Dana White has confirmed to ESPN that Jan Blachowicz will make his return at UFC 266 on September 4th, to defend his UFC light heavyweight championship against #1 ranked light heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira.
Teixeira (32-7), is on an improbable five fight win streak. His latest win was a TKO victory over former title challenger Thiago Santos. At 41, a victory for Teixeira would make him the second oldest fighter to ever win a UFC championship.
Blachowicz (28-8), is back to defend his title for a second time after his last defense came against current UFC Middleweight champion and formerly undefeated Israel Adesanya. Blachowicz was able to defend his belt in a five round decision, handing Adesanya his first loss in the UFC.
Blachowicz is looking to continue his way up the pound-for-pound list with his second title defense since winning the belt over Dominick Reyes at UFC 253.
