The Light Heavyweight division is going through a sort of renaissance, after Jon Jones finally released his chokehold on the upper echelon of the division.
A barnburner sure to secure a knockout between Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker has been booked for a currently unnamed UFC event on September 25th.
The #4 ranked Thiago Santos (21-9) has been on a downhill trot as of late. After moving up to 205 pounds and scoring three straight knockouts, he dropped a narrow decision to Jon Jones. He lost two following bouts to next title challenger Glover Teixeira and Aleksander Rakic.
Johnny Walker (18-5), ranked at #10, was touted as the next big thing when he made his way to the UFC off of the Contender Series. Walker fights like a man who took a good few shots of his namesake, with 18 of his 23 bouts ending by knockout.
This fight is almost guaranteed to produce a knockout and another contender in the Light Heavyweight division.
