Derek Brunson and Darren Till have reportedly been booked to headline a UFC Fight Night card on August 14th, first reported via Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie and confirmed by Brett Okamoto. The pair have been going back and forth on social media and they will finally get to meet in the cage.
Derek Brunson (22-7) is riding a four-fight win streak since aligning with Sanford MMA. He most recently captured a five-round decision over Kevin Holland and is nearing the title shot opportunity that has eluded him for so long. He is currently ranked at #5 at 185 pounds.
The #6 ranked Darren Till (18-3-1) has been out since last July, where he lost a decision to Robert Whittaker in a technical striking battle. He suffered two fight cancellations, where the English star was supposed to headline against Jack Hermansson and Marvin Vettori. The Muay Thai expert is 1-1 since his move up to Middleweight, taking a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum before the aforementioned Whittaker bout.
This is a fantastic clash of styles with Brunson’s elite wrestling and Till’s high level Muay Thai, so expect fireworks come August!
