The stacked UFC Vegas 32 card lost one of its prelim fights, as the Heavyweight contest between Chris Daukaus and Shamil Abdurakhimov has been shifted back a week to the the following Fight Night card.
The postponement came due to COVID-19 protocols in Abdurakhimov’s camp.
Shamil Abdurakhimov (20-5) is set to make his first appearance since September 2019, where he lost to Curtis Blaydes by round two knockout. That defeat stopped his three fight winning streaks, including victories over names like Marcin Tybura and Andrei Arlovski. His long layoff is due to numerous injuries, scrapping three booked matchups.
Three straight wins have put Chris Daukaus (11-3) on a path towards the title since joining the UFC, with each win coming by first round knockout. Daukaus has gone up against many different styles in the UFC, but this will be his first match against another tried and true knockout artist.
The July 24 Fight Night card is currently set to be headlined by Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw in their rebooked bout.
