A top ranked Light Heavyweight contest has just been added to the untitled UFC Fight Night card set to take place on September 4th. Surging contender Magomed Ankalaev will take on former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir, as first reported by Red Fury MMA.
Magomed Ankalaev (15-1) came to the UFC as a 9-0 prospect, suffering a comeback submission loss in his debut. He has rattled off six straight wins since, including four knockouts. He is ranked at #7 in the 205 pound division.
Ranked at #8, Volkan Oezdemir (17-5) has not seen competition since last July, where he lost to top contender Jiri Prochazka. “No Time” has twelve pro knockouts and is exceptionally dangerous from close range.
This fight will likely serve as the co-main event, with the headlining slot already taken.
