Kevin Holland Returns to Fight Kyle Daukaus on October 2nd

Kevin Holland has just had his return fight announced, as he is targeted to face streaking prospect Kyle Daukaus on October 2nd, according to Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.

Kevin Holland (21-7) became a fan favorite following a string of fantastic knockouts and five victories within a calendar year. His experience in 2021 has not been so kind, losing five round decisions to Derek Brunson and Marvin Vettori.

Following a win on the Contender Series that did not see him score a contract, Kyle Daukaus got his UFC call in a short notice bout opposite Brendan Allen, where he lost a decision. Daukaus picked up a decision over Dustin Stoltzfus after that before losing a close fight to Phil Hawes on the scorecards in his most recent outing.

The matchmaking is somewhat odd given that Daukaus lost his last bout and Holland is ranked contender coming off of bouts with fighters in the top 5. With that said, it’s a fun stylistic clash that will once again test the wrestling of Holland.
