A ranked Light Heavyweight affair has just been announced, as Alexander Gustafsson will face off against the streaking Paul Craig. News of this was first announced by Swedish MMA media outlet Frontkick.online.
Veteran Alexander Gustafsson (18-7) will be returning to Light Heavyweight for the first time in over two years. He made a failed bid up to Heavyweight after coming back from retirement, falling to an armbar submission from Fabricio Werdum. Gustafsson has not tasted victory in over four years, scoring a fifth round knockout over next title challenger Glover Teixeira.
Though he has a rocky start to his UFC career, trading wins and losses, Paul Craig (15-4-1) has remained a fan favorite due to his personality and fighting style. He has not lost in his past five appearances, currently riding as three-fight win streak. Every one of his wins has come by finish.
These fighters will meet in a Light Heavyweight show, likely to be featured as the co-main event on the September 4th card in London.
