A top contender bout at Heavyweight is being targeted for UFC 266 between Curtis Blaydes and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. News of this bout was firsts confirmed by MMAFighting.com.
Curtis Blaydes (14-3) was last seen in a title eliminator back in February, but was brutally knocked out by Derrick Lewis. “Razor” Blaydes was on a four fight win streak prior to that, including knockouts over Junior Dos Santos and Shamil Abdurakhimov. He is currently ranked at #4 at 265 pounds with his only losses coming to Lewis and current champion Francis Ngannou.
Just over a week ago, Jairzinho Rozenstruik (12-2) made a big statement by knocking out Augusto Sakai in the first round. This got him back on the right track following a decision loss to Alexander Volkov. He is firmly rooted at #6 in the division, with all six of his Octagon wins coming by knockout.
The Heavyweight division will have its top five sorted out in the coming weeks, and this bout makes a fine addition to the stacked UFC 266 card!
