Just weeks ago, a top ranked Middleweight clash between Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland was booked.
The fight was previously set to take place on the UFC 265 card on August 7th, but has now been moved to the main event slot on the July 31st Fight Night card, yet to be officialy named.
Sean Strickland (23-3) is ranked at #12 and is currently riding a four fight win streak including two knockouts. He was last seen on May 1st, winning a clear decision against Krzysztof Jotko. Strickland has been a top prospect for many years, with finishing skills, slick boxing, and great takedown defense.
Though in the finals stage of his career, Uriah Hall (17-9) is making a final run towards the title, currently ranked at #8. He is also coming off four straight wins, with three by knockout. He was last seen winning via TKO against Chris Weidman, when he checked a leg kick and broke Weidman’s leg 17 seconds into their bout.
The card is currently lacking ranked names, but some hot matchups have already been announced, such as Doo Ho Choi’s return opposite Danny Chavez.
