#10 ranked Lightweight Paul Felder dropped a bombshell on the UFC Vegas 27 broadcast, stating that he was retiring from the sport.
Felder has dropped his last two fights, decision defeats to Dan Hooker and Rafael Dos Anjos, the latter of which was a late notice bout.
This announcement certainly did not come out of nowhere, as Felder is 37 and has been quite vocal about his decreased interest in fighting.
“The Irish Dragon” will be remembered as a fan favorite fighter always down for a brawl. He ends his career with a record of 17-6 and going 9-6 in the UFC. On top of that, he has been awarded six post-fight bonuses and is the last person to defeat current champion Charles Oliveira.
Of course, UFC fans will still be hearing from Felder. He will continue as a commentator for the promotion, as he has become a staple of Fight Night cards.
