Fighter pay is always a pressed topic for the UFC nowadays, but Dana White seems to finally be letting up some ground, however small.
At the UFC 262 press conference on Thursday, Tony Ferguson asked for fight bonuses for the event to be increased from $50,000 to $75,000.
While UFC President Dana White rolled it off with a chuckle and a shrug, it seems Tony got his wish, as the post-fight bonuses have gotten a 50% increase.
These post fight bonuses include “Fight of the Night” and two “Performance of the Night” awards, each re giving a cash prize. There are many possible candidates for this card, even just on paper, with fighters like Shane Burgos, Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler, and the aforementioned Ferguson taking center stage.
Perhaps Tony Ferguson has just a little of that “Dana White privilege” after all.
