This weekend’s UFC card (UFC Vegas 22/ UFC on ESPN 21) is set to be a good one. The main event will showcase two top-10 Middleweights in action as Kevin Holland takes on a resurgent Derek Brunson. The co-main features the long-awaited return of Gregor Gillespie opposite Kiwi bruiser Brad Riddell.
The featured bout of the night was set to be a Heavyweight collision between Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa and Don’Tale Mayes. However, Mayes was forced out of the contest after not being medically cleared.
Stepping in against Tuivasa will be Harry Hunsucker. Contender Series’ fans will recognize Hunsucker for appearing on the most recent season of the show, as he was stopped by Jared Vanderaa.
Hunsucker got back on the winning track, scoring a first-round knockout to make his way to the Octagon through the short-notice showing.
On top of this, Hunsucker is a more difficult opponent for Tuivasa than Mayes stylistically. His dominant wrestling and submission skills give him a clear avenue against the poor ground fighter in Tuivasa.
Expect a quality scrap to come on Saturday!
