Earlier today, four fighters were released from the UFC.
Most notably, Thomas Almeida (22-5) was let go following four straight losses and a knockout defeat to Sean O’Malley. Almeida still has many hardcore fans (including myself), though he is evidently not the prospect we all thought he was when he was at 21-0.
Antonio Arroyo, Mike Rodriguez, and Sarah Alpar were also removed from the UFC roster. All three were Contender Series products, though both Arroyo and Alpar never secured a UFC win. Rodriguez went 2-5, 1 NC while in the UFC, last seen on the wrong end of a decision to Tafon Nchukwi.
