Changes in the Rankings After UFC 265

There were some significant changes in the rankings today after the big UFC 265 event last weekend.

In the heavyweight division, Ciryl Gane had a big night Saturday with a victory over Derrick Lewis in the main event. He is now the interim heavyweight champion of the world. This knocked Stipe Miocic down one spot to the number 2 and knocked Derrick Lewis down one spot to number 3.

In the lightweight division, Rafael Fiziev has now secured himself a place in the rankings after a successful showing over the weekend. He now holds the number 14 position. This pushed Arman Tsarukyan down one spot to number 15.

In the welterweight division, Vicente Luque moves up two spots to the number 4 position dropping Stephen Thompson down one spot to number 5. In addition, Jorge Masvidal moves up one spot to number 6 and Michael Chiesa moves down two spots to number 7.

In the women’s strawweight division there was a good amount of movement. Mackenzie Dern moved up one spot to number 4 and Marina Rodriguez falls one spot to number 6. Tecia Torres moves up one position to number 9 and Michelle Waterson falls one position to number 10. Virna Jandiroba also moves up one spot to number 12, Amanda Lemos moves up one spot to number 13 and Angela Hill falls two spots to number 14.

The only other movements to report are in the pound-for-pound rankings. In the men’s, Ciryl Gane makes his first ever appearance and comes in at number 14. This moved Justin Gaethje down one spot to number 15. For the women’s pound-for-pound, the only movement was Yan Xiaonan. She moves up one position to number 13.
