A top five matchup in the Lightweight division has just been booked, as Justin Gaethje will take on Michael Chandler, per Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Justin Gaethje (22-3) scored a fifth round TKO over Tony Ferguson to claim the interim title, but was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov before his retirement. Gaethje has not seen competition since.
The UFC debut of Michael Chandler (22-6) came with a lot of fanfare, which he capitalized on with a first round knockout of Dan Hooker. A title fight opposite Charles Oliveira proved too much, as Chandler was knocked out in the second round.
The date and location for UFC 268 are not finalized at the moment, but it is rumored to take place November 6th in Madison Square Garden.
