Following a tough final fight in the UFC, Middleweight GOAT and legendary Brazilian Anderson Silva left the UFC.
Shortly after his departure from the world’s premier MMA promotion, Silva signed on to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a boxing match.
The fight when down earlier tonight, and Silva emerged with a split decision win.
Despite coming in at 46 years of age, Silva looked like a younger version of himself. His jab was a constant threat with stellar counters, and his trademark showmanship was on full display.
Chavez Jr., son of boxing legend Chavez Sr., came in at 35 years old with a pro boxing record of 52-5-1 prior to this bout. He missed weight, forfeiting $100K to Silva.
This makes a massive statement for the MMA community, who have been disrespected on the boxing stage recently.
