Three Fights Removed from UFC Vegas 28

The UFC rounded out the month of May with a Fight Night card from the UFC Apex in UFC Vegas 27, which saw Rob Font outstrike Cody Garbrandt in a five-round main event.

Looking ahead, the Octagon will take a week off, but returns on the first Saturday of June with UFC Vegas 28. At time of writing, the card is scheduled with 13 bouts at time of writing.

Unfortunately, three fights have been called off, as first reported by MMA DNA.

Firstly, the Strawweight contest between Angela Hill and Amanda Ribas has been cancelled due to COVID-19. The virus scrapped the first booking of this match, and Ribas is still dealing with lingering symptoms. Both fighters have been removed from the card and the UFC will look to rebook the bout once more.

Yesterday, the UFC confirmed that Maki Pitolo is also out of his scheduled Welterweight bout against Dusko Todorovic. This is due to an injury suffered during training. The UFC is looking for a replacement to keep Todorovic on the card.

Finally, Nate Landwehr has been forced from his contest against Makwan Amirkhani. Landwehr also sustained an injury in training, and like Todorovic, the UFC will try to keep Amirkhani scheduled.
