ONE Championship recently made headlines by signing elite grappler Gordon Ryan.

Ryan has made clear his intention to compete in both MMA as well as grappling, which the multi-sport ONE organization is perfect for.

He has now booked his first bout, an open weight grappling match against Japanese legend Shinya Aoki, and the two are set to compete at August 27, per ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Those unfamiliar with Ryan should know that he is widely regarded as the greatest no-gi Jiu Jitsu practitioner in the world right now with numerous world titles to his name. He has taken on and beaten the likes of Craig Jones, Vagner Rocha, and Rousimar Palhares.

I am anxiously awaiting the entrance of Ryan into the ONE circle, as the grappling superstar has the skill set to make waves wherever he competes.
