UFC Welterweight Alan Jouban has retired from MMA after almost seven years with the promotion. The news comes via his Twitter account, where he posted this:
Jouban retires with a 17-7 record, boasting ten knockout wins and victories over the likes of Mike Perry, Ben Saunders, and Belal Muhammad.
Now 39 years old, retirement is not a surprising announcement from the fighter, as he is most often seen nowadays manning the UFC broadcast desk with Karyn Bryant. He will continue with this role, which I am quite happy to see, as he is intelligent and well-spoken, bringing in-depth analysis to the pre-fight shows.
Jouban will be remembered as a brawler and a fun fighter to watch, holding four Fight of the Night bonuses in the UFC.
