The über-popular Khamzat Chimaev has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, (according to Swedish news outlet kimura.se). This puts his main event matchup against top contender Leon Edwards in jeopardy, as it is currently set for December 19th.
The 9-0 Chimaev has been incredibly active and incredibly dominant in his short time in the UFC, scoring three dominant victories since his July debut, including setting the record for fastest turnaround between two victories. Most recently knocking out Gerald Meerschaert in eighteen seconds, Chimaev is looking to deliver on all his hype and jump the line for a title shot.

Best wishes to Chimaev, but Edwards can’t catch a break. Pretty bummed about this one if it proves to be true and causes the fight to be cancelled.
