Late Replacement! Khama Worthy steps in at UFC 241

Devonte Smith (10-1, 2-0 UFC) was first slated to face off against John Makdessi but an injury turned Smith’s opponent into Clay Collard.

I outlined this fight on my prelims predictions right here, but I’ll give you the short version. Clay Collard had seriously struggled in his UFC stint, with his only possible advantage in this match being his wrestling. Smith hits too hard for the poor defense of Collard and I foresaw a quick finish for the Contender Series alum.

How could Smith get an easier fight? I’ll tell you how.

Khama Worthy (14-6) is making his UFC debut, but should not be in the UFC. He has 5 of his 6 losses by knockout and that can be accredited to his nonexistent striking defense. “The Deathstar” has a touch of power, but his striking and ground game are both low-level and his only successes have been found against SUPER low level competition.

The power alone would smoke Worthy. Toss in the fact that he already has a suspect chin and not the best volume or bolstering ground game and we have an almost certain highlight reel performance on the line for Devonte Smith.

Take the Shot: Devonte Smith via Round 1 Knockout
