All hell broke loose at the UFC weigh-ins this morning, with three fighters missing weight. None were more notable than Khamzat Chimaev, who overshot the 171-pound mark for his scheduled main event opposite Nate Diaz by a shocking 7.5 pounds.
News shortly broke that the Diaz camp would not be continuing with the fight, and the UFC quickly scrambled to reassemble the card.
Moments ago, Dana White announced on Sportscenter the following fights for the top of the PPV card.
Nate Diaz vs. Tony Ferguson (Welterweight)
Khamzat Chimaev vs. Kevin Holland (180-lb. Catchweight)
Li Jingliang vs. Daniel Rodriguez (180-lb. Catchweight)
Both the main and co-main event will be five-round bouts, with all fighters but Chimaev likely getting substantial bumps in pay.
The UFC 279 main card will be broadcast tomorrow at 10 PM EST on ESPN+ Pay-Per-View.
