Bellator has been making moves with its Light Heavyweight Grand Prix, featuring the likes of Ryan Bader, Corey Anderson, and champion Vadim Nemkov.
The Bellator 258 card, set for next Friday on May 7th, is set up to be a colossal event. The main event has the Bantamweight title on the line as Juan Archuleta defends his belt against Sergio Pettis. There are number of fun fights and big names such as Michael Venom Page, Patricky Pitbull, and Raufeon Stots.
However, the fight most awaited for the 258 card was undoubtedly the Grand Prix match between Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Yoel Romero, both of whom were set to make their Bellator debut.
Unfortunately, Yoel Romero has been pulled from the bout.
He did not clear his pre-fight medical tests, rendering him unable to compete at UFC 258 or in the Grand Prix.
Rumble Johnson will now take on Jose Augusto Barros, who scored a first round submission at Bellator 255 to secure his spot as an alternate.
The specific reason regarding Romero’s failure to clear testing has not yet been revealed, with his debut being postponed to a later date.
