We have a ridiculously stacked card to break down this week! In our main event, Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will head up to 205 pounds and throw down with champion Jan Blachowicz in a bid for double champ status. We have two other titles on the line as Amanda Nunes is set to defend her Featherweight title opposite Megan Anderson while Bantamweight champ Petr Yan dukes it out with Aljamain Sterling.
It seems that the just recently signed prospect will be retiring after his battle with COVID-19. Many thought that the 26-year-old would surely find himself with a UFC belt wrapped around his waist, but his health issues seem to be too severe for him to consider fully investing in the sport going forward. I am sure we will receive more information in the coming days, but for now, we send our best wishes to Chimaev and hope for a speedy recovery.
This week, we have another six fight main card to break down with yet another Heavyweight clash, as the powerful Jairzinho Rozenstruik takes on undefeated Cyril Gane. Our co-main event will feature the Light Heavyweights when Nikita Krylov throws down with Magomed Ankalaev.
Following an action-packed UFC Vegas 19 filled with upsets and rising prospects, there are lots of great fights to be made. Derrick Lewis reminded everyone that it only takes one despite Curtis Blaydes’ strong opening round, and the heavyweight division added two fighters to look out for in Tom Aspinall and Christopher Daukus. That being said, here are the fights I would like to see made.
