UFC Vegas 74 Poster

After a week away from the action, the UFC gets back to business this Saturday, June 3rd, bringing a thirteen-bout Fight Night card to the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Top-ranked Flyweights look to make a statement worthy of a title shot in our main event as Kiwi knockout artist Kai Kara-France faces off with the streaking grappler Amir Albazi. The co-main sees veteran Featherweights throw down when Alex Caceres meets Daniel Piñeda, while Jim Miller and Jared Gordon meet in another battle of Octagon vets.

The main card also sees fan favorite Tim Elliott return to action while prospects like Karine Silva and Guram Kutateladze look to make statements.

Kai Kara-France (24-10) vs. Amir Albazi (16-1) (FLW)

We have an excellent stylistic clash in our Flyweight main event as the high-level striking from City Kickboxing’s Kai Kara-France faces off with the top-notch BJJ game of Amir Albazi. While Albazi’s striking defense is certainly coming along, he still looks to be in for a rough ride against technical striker Kara-France, whose volume far surpasses Albazi’s on the feet. Albazi’s top pressure is certainly effective, but he is ineffectual with his guard, and I expect Kara-France’s 87% takedown defense rate to keep this on the feet. While I do believe Kai has enough of a striking advantage to dominate exchanges on the feet, Albazi is composed and tough enough to stay in there all five rounds.

My Pick: Kai Kara-France via Decision

Alex Caceres (20-13) vs. Daniel Piñeda (28-14) (FTW)

My Pick: Alex Caceres via Knockout

Jim Miller (35-17) vs. Jesse Butler (12-4) (LW)

My Pick: Jim Miller via Submission

Tim Elliott (18-12-1) vs. Victor Altamirano (12-2) (FLW)

My Pick: Tim Elliott via Decision

Karine Silva (15-4) vs. Ketlen Souza (13-3) (FLW)

My Pick: Karine Silva via Submission

Note: The Welterweight bout between Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Abubakar Nurmagomedov has been shifted to the main card. Check the prelims predictions here for that pick.
